Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources, he creates music based on his own life experiences as well as the lived experiences of those around him. He describes his creative approach as an intuitive and spontaneous process where he is able to “Vibe with the beat and create in the moment”;  allowing the beat to guide his lyrical direction.

As a diverse creative with a multifaceted pen, he has been able to contribute his talent across multiple genres including  pop, R&B, hip hop and most recently country music.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate more genre-defying music, meaningful community involvement, as well as a continuation of raw and authentic creation of musical art that imitates life through his unique lens.

Quotes from the artist

With the recent integration of industry legends like Timbaland into Ethika’s leadership, B Simms is excited about the label’s future. “Growing up, I was a huge fan of  Jay-Z, the projects he created with Timbaland were very influential to me, so being able to work closely with such an iconic producer and being a part of the evolving vision for Ethika Music is definitely inspiring”

“I’m inspired by something that Lil Wayne once said in an interview, “As an artist, we have the power to create something new, something that didn't exist before”...this is why I love being able to tap in, connect with the beat and create in the moment.”

“I’m proud of my recent proclamation from the city of Louisville Kentucky. It’s special to me for many reasons, not only is it my birthday as well as my daughters birthday–but it compels and inspires me to do more in my city. The city is craving change and I look forward to being able to contribute in a positive way”
