GSHYTT is the true definition of what it means to be your most authentic self at the highest level of greatness, a key element to the Florida rapper’s mindset. Since he was a jit growing up in Mount Dora, Florida, ‘G’ has always been his childhood name.

Early on, the artist/actor/songwriter was endowed with a natural talent for learning, earning the Bright Futures scholarship in high school before enrolling in Florida A&M University. Therein, G had aspirations of being a student athlete, trying his hand at football before honing in on something else that caught his attention: performing arts.

FAMU taught G how to follow through and finish what he started. His induction in The Essential Theatre (Florida A&M University’s theatre program) was a turning point in his life. After graduating college with an acting degree, the former athlete went on to land roles in Stomp The Yard 2 and Honey 2. It wasn’t until G was four years removed from college that he started to become comfortable with songwriting, using music as means to vent and express himself creatively.

From winning his middle school talent show to eventually becoming a professional backup dancer for Beyoncé, G’s life has revolved around performing. His style of rap straddles the line between street shytt and colorful melodies, peddling a modern take on his region’s sound through a balanced approach.
