In the face of adversity, Rayface has persevered. Growing up, the Houston native had to fend for himself while both of his parents were incarcerated, causing Ray to pivot into a leadership role at a young age.

A near death experience scarred him for life – Ray was struck in the face with a stray bullet – but at the same time, this transcendent moment was an attestation to Ray’s unyielding determination to overcome whatever obstacles are thrown his way.

However, trying to navigate the perils faced in impoverished communities comes with real-life struggles like violence, mental health, and run-ins with law enforcement. And while a troubled past has left Ray with a lengthy rap sheet, he was emboldened by the discovery that music could be his saving grace: a way out from the streets. Although he never aspired to be a rapper, Ray quickly realized that he possessed the know-how required to thrive in the music business, trying his hand at management before eventually becoming an artist himself.

His first song, “Bout It,” garnered regional acclaim, so much so that he caught the attention of the song’s originator Master P, which resulted in Ray signing his first-ever recording contract.

Rayface went on to release a string of increasingly popular tracks that accentuate his hustle and ambitious mindset. He’s collaborated with the likes of Boosie, JayDaYoungan, Lil Jairmy, OTB Fastlane, and Kirko Bangz to name a few.
