Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, and of Greek descent, ILIO is a chameleon of an artist. 

He had a guitar in his hands at the age of two, playing by ear, alongside his father Niko, a Grecian folklorist singer and songwriter. 

ILIO is a multi-faceted, multi-lingual, multi-instrumentalist singer, songwriter, poet, and musician, whose range and style is vast and varietal. A true artist that identifies heavily with the belief that music is medicine and that words are powerful. Masterfully crafted ideologies and personal virtues are weaved throughout his discography. In his early life, ILIO closely related to music by artists like Bob Marley, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Santana, followed by hip hop artists like Tupac, Eminem and Dr. Dre in his middle years, and then came newer aged artists like John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and Bruno Mars. 

Today, the music ILIO creates, his collection of songs, can be best described as a unique combination of all of his influences. He writes and composes music that sounds and feels familiar, but sounds and feels new. His abilities melodically and the pocket and presence with which he delivers his sound provides an ease of understanding and feeling. There’s a soulful depth to his voice, and yet, at times, can be loud and powerful and overtaking. He’s written wedding songs, piano ballads, country and reggae songs, hip hop verses, pop and hard rock songs…the list goes on. His lyrics have found their way into the EDM world, writing for various prominent artists as well as being featured on the songs as a vocalist and producer. There is no boundary he won’t cross. 

This is an artist that feels music and all the ethereal elements it generates. For every occasion, or emotion, there is an adjacent song he has in the vault. There’s always something new to hear, to learn. He’s vulnerable in songs about heartache and loss, but also provides a hopeful way out. His message is one of unity and acceptance, of love and inclusion. He sees the world as he wishes it would be, and creates his art from it. 

His music is his life’s diary. 

And his intention, is to share it with the world.
